Level 1 Looks like you have a leak at your union. level 1 Also I now know the asshole who put my hot water heater in sucks. But he had done this prior to that revelation. level 1 That is in fact a dielectric union which is what should be used there. My guess is the rubber washer is missing (tho it usually leaks pretty good without it) or there is a small leak there. level 2 That copper pipe dose not enter that fitting straight its at an angle could that cause this? Preserving infrastructure The ability of electrochemical processes to break compounds down into elements or to create new compounds can be destructive as well as productive. Corrosion is an all-too-common result of electrochemical reactions between materials and substances in their environment. Corrosion is one of the most damaging and costly naturally occurring events seen today. What is corrosion? Corrosion is a dangerous and extremely costly problem. Because of it, buildings and bridges can collapse, oil pipelines break, chemical plants leak, and bathrooms flood. Corroded electrical contacts can cause fires and other problems, corroded medical implants may lead to blood poisoning, and air pollution has caused corrosion damage to works of art around the world. Corrosion threatens the safe disposal of radioactive waste that must be stored in containers for tens of thousands of years. The most common kinds of corrosion result from electrochemical reactions. General corrosion occurs when most or all of the atoms on the same metal surface are oxidized, damaging the entire surface. Most metals are easily oxidized: they tend to lose electrons to oxygen (and other substances) in the air or in water. As oxygen is reduced (gains electrons) it forms an oxide with the metal. When reduction and oxidation take place on different kinds of metal in contact with one another, the process is called galvanic corrosion. In electrolytic corrosion, which occurs most commonly in electronic equipment, water or other moisture becomes trapped between two electrical contacts that have an electrical voltage applied between them. The result is an unintended electrolytic cell. Take a metal structure such as the Statue of Liberty. It looks strong and permanent. Like nearly all metal objects, however, it can become unstable as it reacts with substances in its environment and deteriorates. Sometimes this corrosion is harmless or even beneficial: the greenish patina that covers the statues copper skin protected the metal beneath from weather damage. Inside the statue, however, corrosion caused serious harm over the years. Its iron frame and copper skin acted like the electrodes of a huge galvanic cell, so that nearly half of the frame had rusted away by 1986, the statues one hundredth anniversary. Natural protection Some metals acquire a natural passivity, or resistance to corrosion. This occurs when the metal reacts with, or corrodes in, the oxygen in air. The result is a thin oxide film that blocks the metals tendency to undergo further reaction. The patina that forms on copper and the weathering of certain sculpture materials are examples of this. The protection fails if the thin film is damaged or destroyed by structural stress — on a bridge, for example — or by scraping or scratching. In such cases the material may repassivate, but if that is not possible, only parts of the object corrode. Then the damage is often worse because it is concentrated at these sites. Harmful corrosion can be prevented in numerous ways. Electrical currents can produce passive films on metals that do not normally have them. Some metals are more stable in particular environments than others, and scientists have invented alloys such as stainless steel to improve performance under particular conditions. Some metals can be treated with lasers to give them a non-crystalline structure, which resists corrosion. In galvanization, iron or steel is coated with the more active zinc; this forms a galvanic cell where the zinc corrodes rather than the iron. Other metals are protected by electroplating with an inert or passivating metal. Non-metallic coatings — plastics, paints, and oils — can also prevent corrosion.
This corrosion the sisters of mercy. Level 2 That definitely looks like flux som3one was too lazy to clean level 2 This makes sense after reading up about the corrosive nature of most types of flux. I only have experience with no-clean flux so didnt expect it to be this corrosive. level 1 Is it corrosion? At first glance I honestly thought it was a spider web/ spider egg sack. Just as damaging, Im sure. level 1 Almost certainly some kind of liquid/humidity. Chances are you might be able to recover from this, cleaning it up with some Isopropyl alcohol might do it ( as well as touching up and solder joints in the affected areas) level 2 Alcohol wasnt too effective, so I ended up trying with white vinegar which instantaneously reacted with the residue and left a completely clean PCB surface. Only one solder joint was significantly corroded to warrant some new solder. Game works perfectly after a battery replacement. level 1 Id throw it into an ultrasonic for a good clean. Then any affected areas clean up with reflowing with solder iron and flux.

Funny thing looks like there's nothing even connected to the valve, I wonder if they tried to unscrew it to end use. In any case you can fix this yourself with the following: shark bite slip coupling, pipe cutter tool, and a pipe deburring tool. Hold the slip coupling up to the pipe to ensure there's enough going in after cutting either side of the valve and mark the ends of the new coupling on the pipe, cut the valve out leaving as much good pipe as possible, deburr the inside and outside of the pipe, polish it a bit with a scotch pad, then just push the coupling in place, align to your marks. Less than 50 with new tools.

The Sisters of Mercy were a popular English goth band who did very well in the UK between 1984 and 1993. In 1985, tensions in the band led to their split, with bass player Craig Adams and guitarist Wayne Hussey leaving to form The Mission. The Sisters Of Mercy leader Andrew Eldritch re-formed the band in 1987, without Adams and Hussey. This song takes a stab at the departed pair, with lines like "Sing this corrosion to me" and "Selling the don't belong. indicating that Eldritch considered The Mission's sound to be a copy - or corrosive version - of The Sisters Of Mercy. The Mission went on to have a successful chart career in the UK, with hit singles like "Wasteland. Tower of Strength " and "Butterfly On A Wheel. Eldritch wrote this in 1986, and was going to release it as a single from his band Sisterhood, but they waited a year and released it as The Sisters Of Mercy. Jim Steinman produced this track. He used the 40-piece New York Choral Society to get a grand sound. Steinman worked on all of Meat Loaf's hits as well as " Holding Out For A Hero " and " Total Eclipse Of The Heart " for Bonnie Tyler. Eldritch described the track in a 1987 interview with Sounds magazine: It's about the idiots, full of sound and fury, who stampede around this world signifying nothing. It's about people who sing about the revolution while selling it short, about people who sing about the corrosion of things while they themselves are falling apart. People who miss the point. It's also stupidly over-the-top bombastic, but rightly so...
